When should I schedule an inspection?

The best time to schedule an inspection is directly after you have a binding contract on a property. The real estate contract usually allows for a due diligence period to inspect the building. Ask your real estate agent to include this inspection clause in the contract, making your purchase obligation contingent upon the findings of a professional inspection.

What should I look for in an inspector?

Unfortunately, home inspectors are not legally required to be licensed or certified in Georgia. This means that some are not as qualified or experienced as others.

Should I attend the home inspection?

We invite every home buyer to attend the home inspection. However, if your schedule does not permit attendance, you will still receive the same high level of service and a phone call to discuss the findings.

What kind of report will I receive?

Some home inspectors handwrite notes on a sheet of paper. These “reports” are often unorganized, unprofessional, and hard to read.
